Jamie Binkley has been training in Chito-Ryu karate since 1980. She holds the rank of San Dan (3rd degree black belt) in Chito-Ryu karate and is a certified Instructor with the US Chito-Ryu Federation. She is also a certified member of the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai, a governing body in Japan sponsored by the Imperial Family of Japan.

Jamie also holds a Sho Dan in kobudo (Okinawan weapons style). She has been training in kobudo since 1985.

Jamie studied with her teacher, Shihan Art Rott from 1980 until his passing in 2001. Shihan Rott was a direct student of Hanshi William Dometrich from 1966-2001. Hanshi Dometrich is one of the longest practicing martial artists in America and was just awarded the 9th degree from the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai. He is the first non-Japanese karate person to receive this honor.
